Bending Spoons has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Airtable in an all cash transaction that values the company at an enterprise value of 1,285 billion dollars. Taken together with Airtable's current net cash position, that implies an equity value of about 2,25 billion. The boards of both companies approved unanimously, Bending Spoons is buying 100 percent of the shares, and the deal is expected to close by the end of this year subject to regulatory approvals and the usual conditions. Until then the two continue to operate independently.

Airtable was founded in 2013 by Howie Liu and is one of the better known names in no code software. It lets companies build databases, applications and custom workflows without writing code, and has become a standard tool for teams in marketing, sales, product development and project management. In recent years it has invested in embedding artificial intelligence, with the aim of turning the platform into somewhere increasingly complex work can be automated.

The business behind the price is a large one. Airtable now counts more than 500.000 customer organisations, including 80 percent of the Fortune 100, and reached annual recurring revenue of roughly 480 million dollars in June 2026, growing more than 20 percent year on year.

Luca Ferrari, chief executive and co founder of the Italian company, called Airtable a pioneering brand that is changing how teams organise data and run their most important processes, and said the intention is to invest in it over the long term and to lean on its central strength, which is bringing teams and workflows together in one flexible space.

Howie Liu, co founder and chief executive of Airtable, said the company was started to put the ability to build software within reach of people regardless of technical skill, and described the deal as giving it the resources and long term commitment to pursue that with more ambition while it builds what he called the artificial intelligence native platform of the future.

This is the first acquisition Bending Spoons has announced since listing on the Nasdaq on 1 July, and it continues a strategy built on buying established technology brands and relaunching them. The group had already completed the acquisition of Aol in January and of Eventbrite in March.

The listing itself was one of the year's larger technology offerings, valuing the company at about 18,4 billion dollars and raising around 1,7 billion. It also took the four founders, Luca Ferrari, Matteo Danieli, Francesco Patarnello and Luca Querella, into the billionaire class, with stakes Forbes estimates at roughly 2,8 to 3 billion dollars each.
